Before we go on to form our very own MyBodyRevamp Dream. Let’s take a quick look at the inspiration for this article. The American Dream depicts the freedom of choice that allows inhabitants of the United States to pursue their goals in life through hard work and free choice. Therefore one person may work hard to achieve monetary gain and social status, whilst another may pursue spiritual happiness through a self sufficient lifestyle. Agreed, both people have to work equally hard to achieve their goals.
So let’s take a look at how this is applicable to achieving our health, fitness, and wellbeing goals and in doing so form the MyBodyRevamp Dream.
Choose a Healthy Lifestyle

Paramount to success in achieving your MyBodyRevamp Dream is the realisation we have a choice. We can choose to invest in our health and wellbeing, or we can choose to invest or focus our attention in another area, for example socialising, work, or television. Far too often the words ‘’I haven’t got time’’ are heard in reference to committing to regular exercise or making nutritional and lifestyle changes. The MyBodyRevamp response to this is ‘’you don’t have the time not to invest in yourself’’. Everybody has 24 hours in a day and 7 days in a week, therefore time constraints are a product of how we choose to apportion the time for various centres of our lives.

Focus on You

On reading this I am sure that many of you will instantly see barriers to our ‘free choice’. Work pressures, a boss that doesn’t understand, family commitments. The important thing here is not to blame others. Fundamental to success is the realisation that the majority of what we are exposed too is again our choice. Let’s delve into the areas of nutrition a little and look at a couple of examples. Have you ever eaten anything by accident? No. Have you ever blamed someone else for what you have eaten, for example you were out with friends, or someone else bought the food? Probably Yes. So, the next part of the MyBodyRevamp Dream is to take accountability for our actions and to be proactive. The realisation that we ultimately decide how we live each day gives us a fighting chance of reaching our goals.

Walk the Walk

Now for the hard part. We have a clear dream in our mind, we have chosen a healthier lifestyle, we a in a proactive ‘’nothing’s going to stop me’’ frame of mind. It’s now time for action. MyBodyRevamp is going to refer to this as ‘Living the Dream’. If your goal is to drop some bodyweight, increase energy levels and to look and feel better, create a strong image in your mind of what life as that person is like, then go live your life in that style. Let’s turn this around, imagine the physique of someone that eats pizza, donuts, drinks fizzy drinks, and sits in front of the TV all day. Now imagine the physique of a person that eats leans cuts of organic meat, a wide array of vegetables and fruit, is well hydrated, and follows an active lifestyle. If your goal is to be the lean person then you have to put yourself in the mindset of that person and ultimately live the lean person’s lifestyle.

Empower Yourself

If you are unsure of exactly how to reach your health and fitness goals don’t struggle on blindly into the night, seek the appropriate help and advice. The realisation that there may be a quicker, smarter, and healthier way to reach your fitness and wellbeing targets may be the difference between success and failure. Human nature is to take the path of least resistance. It is often easier for us to stay in our comfort zone, not really progressing, than it is to recognise that what we are doing may not take us any closer to our dream.
